William L. Lane

William L. Lane (1931-1999) was a New Testament scholar of the postwar evangelical generation who taught at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, Western Kentucky University, and Seattle Pacific University, where he held the Paul T. Walls Chair in Wesleyan and Biblical Studies. Trained at Harvard Divinity School, he wrote the commentary on Mark in the New International Commentary on the New Testament and an award-winning two-volume commentary on Hebrews.
