William Barclay
Professor of Divinity and Biblical Criticism, University of Glasgow; minister of the Church of Scotland
William Barclay (1907–1978) was a Church of Scotland minister and Professor of Divinity and Biblical Criticism at the University of Glasgow. Writing in the mid-twentieth century, he devoted his career to making serious biblical scholarship accessible to ordinary readers, most famously through his Daily Study Bible commentaries on the New Testament, which remain in print decades after his death.
