Thomas G. Long is Bandy Professor Emeritus of Preaching at Candler School of Theology, Emory University, and has taught preaching for over forty years. His introductory textbook The Witness of Preaching is used in theological schools around the world, and he has served as president of the Academy of Homiletics and delivered the Lyman Beecher Lectures at Yale Divinity School.
