R. T. France (1938–2012) was a British New Testament scholar who served as Honorary Research Fellow in the Department of Theology and Religious Studies at the University of Wales, Bangor. He is best known for his magisterial commentary on the Gospel of Matthew in the New International Commentary on the New Testament, alongside earlier studies including Jesus and the Old Testament and Matthew: Evangelist and Teacher.
