Philip H. Towner is a New Testament and translation scholar who earned his PhD at the University of Aberdeen and served as Dean of the Nida Institute for Biblical Scholarship at the American Bible Society, after directing translation services for the United Bible Societies. He is best known for his work on the Pastoral Epistles, including the commentary on 1-2 Timothy and Titus in the New International Commentary on the New Testament.
