Gareth Lee Cockerill is Professor Emeritus of New Testament and Biblical Theology at Wesley Biblical Seminary in Jackson, Mississippi, where he taught for thirty-five years after serving nine years as a missionary in Sierra Leone. He earned his PhD from Union Theological Seminary in Virginia and is best known for his commentary on Hebrews in the New International Commentary on the New Testament.
